About

Heechan was born in Seoul, Korea, and received his B.Sc. (2017) and Ph.D. (2023) in Chemistry from Seoul National University under the guidance of Prof. Dongwhan Lee. As a synthetic chemist, he was fascinated by the structure–property relationship of redox-active and light-emitting molecules. His doctoral research spanned diverse fields from organic fluorophores to small-molecule bioinorganic models. In October 2023, he joined the Gilliard group to explore main-group functional molecules and materials.
