About

Josh did his undergraduate studies at Eastern Washington University in the lab of Prof. Eric Abbey studying the conversion of potassium organotrifluoroborates to metal organoborohydrides. He then moved to the University of Oregon where he completed his PhD in Chemistry (2021) under Prof. Michael Haley studying antiaromaticity and diradical character in arene-fused s-indacenes and dicyclopenta[b,g]naphthalenes. His research in the Gilliard lab will focus on the synthesis of novel heterocyclic materials. In his spare time Josh can be found hiking, fishing, or organizing recreational sports teams.
